Background:
Citizen Corps is a nationwide volunteer organization that began in 2002 as part of the President’s USA Freedom Corps with the purpose of actively involving all Americans in making our communities and nation safer, stronger and better prepared for all hazards and threats. The Utah County Citizen Corps became an approved council on March 16, 2007, under the direction of the Utah County Health Department and with the official sanction of the Utah County Commission. Our local endorsing official is Commissioner Larry Ellertsen.
